Ebook About “Thayne is a master at creating richly dimensional and kind characters from different generations who find themselves facing difficult challenges.”—Booklist With the emotional pull of Debbie Macomber, Barbara Delinsky and Susan Wiggs, RaeAnne Thayne brings readers an uplifting, brand new story told with her trademark charm and heart. She knows what’s best for everyone but herself…With a past like hers, Jessica Clayton feels safer in a life spent on the road. She’s made a career out of helping others downsize—because she’s learned the hard way that the less “stuff,” the better, a policy she applies equally to her relationships. But a new client is taking Jess back to Cape Sanctuary, a town she once called home…and that her little sister, Rachel, still does. The years apart haven’t made a dent in the guilt Jess still carries after a handgun took the lives of both their parents and changed everything between them. While Jess couldn’t wait to put the miles between her and Cape Sanctuary, Rachel put down roots, content for the world—and her sister—to think she has a picture-perfect life. But with the demands of her youngest child’s disability, Rachel’s marriage has begun to fray at the seams. She needs her sister now more than ever, yet she’s learned from painful experience that Jessica doesn’t do family, and she shouldn’t count on her now.Against her judgment, Jess finds herself becoming attached—to her sister and her family, even to her client’s interfering son, Nate—and it’s time to put everything on the line. Does she continue running from her painful past, or stay put and make room for the love and joy that come along with it?Book The Path to Sunshine Cove: A Novel Review :
RaeAnne Thane has done it again with The Path To Sunshine Cove. Rachel and Jess are sisters with two very different personalities. Rachel is outgoing with the perfect life. She has her loving husband and three children. The recent diagnosis of their youngest, son Silas, being autistic has Rachel reeling. She has been so determined to be perfect in all aspects of her life. She doesn't know how to let anyone help even her husband. Because of this there are cracks starting in her marriage. Both sisters had a very troubled childhood but each were left scarred in a different way. Jess is happy and carefree on the outside. Inside she has closed herself off to any relationship so as not to get hurt. If she doesn't care too much she won't feel any pain. All of this went by the wayside when she met the Whitakers in particular Nate. She felt for all of them but mostly for Nate. She knew she couldn't possibly do anything about this and would forget about him when she left. A few kisses didn't mean a thing. Her job is to help others downsize their homes as they move on to the next chapter in their lives. This leads to her doing a lot of traveling which she does in her pickup pulling her Airstream behind. When it comes time to leave as she pulls out of the Whitakers she feels a pain in her heart she had never felt before. This was such a heartwarming story. Of course there are tears to be shed but there are also smiles to be had. Once I started this book I literally could not put it down until I finished it. (the joys of retirement). I loved every minute of it and really didn't want it to end! Two sisters, alike yet not, both affected by their traumatic childhood in ways that took years for them to realize. Family and new friends caring, sharing in ways neither could imagine. One striving for perfection, the other not allowing closeness. It took their finally being real and admitting to each other how damaged they were. How they could now deal with what life was tossing their way. To perfect not being necessary, to admitting love was possible, sisters learned to truly love each other again. The Path to Sunshine Cove by Raeanne Thayne is a book that will remain in one`s heart for a very long time!
